With its enhanced feature set and functionalities, OnSSI’s Ocularis 5 video management software (VMS) continues to break new ground for mainstream surveillance and emerging business intelligence applications. On display at Intersec 2017, which runs January 22-24 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, visitors to Electronic Design DMCC’s Booth E40 in Sheikh Saeed Hall 3 can engage in live demonstrations of the latest Ocularis platform to discover the innovative capabilities, maximum stability, robust security, and new technology integrations Ocularis delivers.
Ocularis 5 intelligent video management software
“As we continue to develop and incorporate innovative capabilities on the Ocularis VMS platform, integrators and users alike are discovering new ways they can heighten security and manage emerging business intelligence data,” said Mulli Diamant, Vice President of International Business Development, OnSSI. “Ocularis’ unique combination of enhanced features, recording versatility, robust data security, overall stability and continually growing technology partnerships delivers a wealth of value-added capabilities that allow this powerful VMS platform to transcend well beyond conventional applications.”
Ocularis 5 is an intelligent, highly scalable VMS platform that simplifies workloads and system management. It provides the highest levels of network and video security with features including a scrambled recorded video database to protect the integrity of recorded video and the ability to record directly to a NAS anywhere on the network. There is no need to register camera licenses and MAC addresses with Ocularis. Unique to Ocularis, Critical Camera Failover ensures continuous sight by switching to a failover camera in as little as two seconds. Ocularis 5 also allows for multiple different recorders to be combined under the same Base (including legacy Ocularis 4.X recorders) with centralised user and event management.
New features and enhancements
New features and enhancements in the upcoming Ocularis 5.3 release will include:
-
Critical Camera Failover ensures continuous sight by switching to a failover camera in as little as two seconds
- Smart Camera Driver technology provides out-of-the-box support for newly introduced cameras from industry-leading camera manufacturers without requiring system administrators to wait for model-specific camera drivers to be written and released. This allows users and integrators to immediately take advantage of the newest, most advanced camera features.
- Mapping via GPS on Ocularis Maps allows cameras with assigned GPS coordinates to appear on the map. Pins can be tapped to open the stream of each camera.
- A new Ocularis 5 Mobile app for iOS and Android devices allows users to stream live video and transfer it directly to the Ocularis VMS using their smartphones and tablets. When a meaningful event occurs, Ocularis will allow the user to view live and recorded video on 3G and 4G networks and to manipulate their PTZ cameras accordingly. Other supported features include live and synchronised playback, event management and support for a high number of concurrent users.
Ocularis 5 is offered in three models: Professional, designed for organisations operating multiple locations with small to mid-sized camera counts; Enterprise, built for a wide range of mid to large IT-centric organisations; and Ultimate, created for large organisations with extended command and control needs and recording server failover.
