Cassidian will also introduce its updated training simulation software for the heavyweight EOD robot tEODor |
- CASSIDIAN presents new training simulation software for EOD Robots Telemax and tEODor.
- New IED Component Catalogue and Circuit Constructor to simplify Explosive Ordnance Disposal operations.
- CASSIDIAN is the new name of EADS Defence & Security.
CASSIDIAN showcased its expertise and innovative ability in terms of Holistic Explosives & Ammunition Training (HEAT) at the Annual Congress for Bomb Technicians and Post Blast Investigators which was held by the German BKA (Federal Criminal Police Office) in Magdeburg on 23-25 November.
Cassidian will present three major innovations:
Telemax Training Simulation Software - For the first time, Cassidian will present the initial version of its unique training simulation software for the Telemax Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) robot system. Elaborated since March 2010 in collaboration with the robot supplier Telerob, the software is scheduled to be fully operational in February 2011. With moving, turning around and grabbing capabilities, this first software version demonstrates the simulation of basic Telemax robot functionalities for training in a realistic operating environment e.g. train stations, airports or aircraft. Numerous advantages can be drawn from the new-generation software. Above all, users will be able to provide superior training at a lower cost. Indeed, the simulation software results in fewer training robots and reduces the damage sustained during training, offering a free choice of environmental influences and times of day, changeable scenarios and a high learning effect through repetition of scenarios. In addition, the simulation software eliminates inherent risks and obstacles in real-life training sessions with realistic Improvised Explosive Device Disposal (IEDD) without any risk of harm, and permits preparation in assignment locations where real training exercises cannot be carried out.
Cassidian will introduce the new Improvised Explosive Device (IED) Component Catalogue & Circuit Constructor |
IED Component Catalogue and Circuit Constructor (I4C) - Cassidian will also introduce the new Improvised Explosive Device (IED) Component Catalogue & Circuit Constructor, which significantly enhances IED Disposal by the use of X-ray images. The software consists of a database filled with hundreds of X-rayed and photographed electronic components. I4C helps to identify specific components of an IED by comparing the generated x-ray image of a suspicious object with the component catalogue. In addition the user can learn more about the IED's functionality by using the Circuit Creator. This novel feature allows the user to create an electric circuit on a virtual whiteboard.
At Cassidian, HEAT supports highly specialised personnel in the fields of Ammunition, EOD, IEDD, Special Operations and Public Security with a wide portfolio of Holistic Explosives & Ammunition Training solutions including training conception, live training, interactive Media & Simulation training, and training centres.
