Avigilon Control Center Core is a new entry-level version of the company's award-winning network video management software, delivering advanced high-definition surveillance capabilities, ease of use, and superior image quality to small businesses.
According to statistics from the Small Business Administration (SBA,) there are nearly 27.5 million small businesses in the United States alone. These small businesses-including retailers, convenience stores, and small office buildings-face security concerns similar to those of larger companies but they are constrained by smaller budgets and a lack of dedicated security staff. As a result, small businesses are increasingly looking for affordable, easy-to-use HD surveillance systems.
"With security a growing concern for many small businesses, we've seen an increase in the number of customers who are looking for cost-effective high-definition surveillance systems," said Alexander Fernandes, President and CEO of Avigilon. "We developed Avigilon Control Center Core to address the unique requirements of small businesses while delivering the same superior image quality needed to help ensure they obtain the best evidence."
Leveraging Avigilon's High-Definition Stream Management (HDSM) technology to achieve the best possible image quality while using less bandwidth and less powerful workstations for lower costs, Avigilon Control Center Core delivers the following features and benefits:
- A complete system for reviewing live and recorded HD images that includes one Avigilon Network Video Recorder, Avigilon Control Center Core software, and up to 16 Avigilon HD cameras.
- Accommodates conventional and PTZ analogue cameras, as well as a broad range of third-party IP cameras and encoders, enabling a budget-conscious migration to HD.
- Simple and intuitive user interface for full control over surveillance video playback to quickly retrieve evidence.
- Robust searching enables quick and accurate navigation of large amounts of recorded HD video with camera-specific event logs.
For the past four years, Avigilon has offered high-definition video surveillance systems that provide the best image possible to large and mid-sized companies around the world. Already, Avigilon's HD cameras, network video management software, and video recorders are sold by over 800 dealers and employed at over 10,000 sites in 80 countries globally.
"Our expansion into the small business market will enable far more customers to use our market-leading products and services, and help fuel our company's growth," said Fernandes.
Industry analysts expect high-definition cameras to capture more and more of the rapidly expanding global surveillance market. HD images are significantly more detailed than the grainy images offered by many competing analogue-based surveillance solutions. They will increasingly be used to detect and deter crimes, fight liability and negligence lawsuits, monitor key assets such as manufacturing and production lines, and aid in anti-terrorism efforts around the world.
In October 2011, Avigilon was ranked number four on the Deloitte Technology Fast 500-a ranking of 500 of the fastest growing technology, media, telecommunications, life sciences, and clean technology companies in North America.
