Avigilon's Control Center is the company's award-winning HD surveillance software with HDSM |
Avigilon, the performance and value leader in high definition (HD) and megapixel video surveillance systems, announced at ISC West that the upcoming version of Avigilon Control Center, the company's award-winning HD surveillance software with high definition stream management (HDSM), will support all third-party cameras that operate on the Open Network Video Interface Forum (ONVIF) standard.
The upcoming release of the Avigilon Control Center is scheduled to be commercially available in Q2 2010. Established in 2008 by Axis Communications, Bosch Security Systems, and Sony Corporation, ONVIF is a global and open industry forum committed to the adoption of network video in the security market. The ONVIF specification defines a common protocol for the exchange of information between network video devices including automatic device discovery, video streaming, and intelligence metadata. Avigilon has been a member of ONVIF since May 2009.
"The number of ONVIF supported cameras entering the marketplace is a clear indication of the market's desire for industry standards to make the selection, installation, and management of surveillance systems easier," said Dave Tynan, Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing for Avigilon. "As an early supporter of the ONVIF standard, we are pleased to announce that Avigilon Control Center now supports all ONVIF standard cameras and look forward to an even broader adoption of the ONVIF standard around the world."
