The Thames Valley business community can secure its businesses and counter terrorism |
Nick Gilbert, Thames Valley Police Business Crime Reduction & Engagement Manager, says: "Countering terrorism is an issue in which all businesses can play their part, protecting their own organisations and customers as well as the wider public. This event will provide companies with an insight into how you can improve your own security and contribute to safer communities."
Chris Pinder, British Security Industry Association Southern Regional General Manager, says: "Encompassing the latest information and guidance on security issues that may affect businesses, the event also includes a free exhibition offering visitors the opportunity to find out more about a host of the latest security products and services. This is an unmissable event for businesses wishing to find out more about further protecting their premises and staff."
The event will be held on Wednesday 11th November at Royal Windsor Racecourse, and will involve presentations from Thames Valley Police's Counter Terrorism Security Advisor and Crime Prevention Advisor on how businesses can protect themselves against crime and terrorism. There will also be a taster session for businesses on Project Griffin, an initiative which seeks to coordinate the resources of the police, emergency services, local authorities, business and the private security industry to combat terrorism.
The event, which has been kindly sponsored by Selectamark, is organised by Thames Valley Police and the British Security Industry Association in partnership with the Milton Keynes & Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce, and the Federation of Small Businesses. The event will open at 9.00am, finishing with lunch for delegates and an opportunity to network with other local businesses.
