Security industry's premier public policy conference to be held June 8-9
SIA has announced George Will and Mike McCurry will headline the 2010 SIA Government Summit
Pulitzer Prize-winning political columnist George Will and former White House press secretary Mike McCurry will headline the 2010 SIA Government Summit, the Security Industry Association has announced.

The annual SIA Government Summit is the nation's premier public policy conference for the security industry. The 2010 event on June 8-9 in Washington, D.C., will feature a wide range of speakers discussing legislative and regulatory issues related to electronic security.

George Will is scheduled to deliver the keynote address at the event. Will is the country's most widely-read political columnist and is among its foremost conservative voices. He writes a twice-weekly column for The Washington Post syndicate that reaches nearly 500 newspapers, he appears regularly on ABC's This Week, he writes essays for Newsweek and he has published several books. In addition to his political expertise, he is a thoughtful and passionate baseball fan who was recently chosen by Major League Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig to serve on a blue-ribbon panel to examine several on-field issues in the game.

Mike McCurry will keynote the SIA Public Policy Dinner that accompanies the Summit. McCurry became a familiar face to Americans in the 1990s as the White House press secretary during some of the most challenging years of the Clinton administration. Having handled exceedingly difficult questions on a daily basis with grace and humor, he is an expert on the ways of Washington and the nexus of politics and personalities. He now works as a principal at Public Strategies Washington, Inc., serves on several boards and advisory councils and is a member of the Commission on Presidential Debates.

More information about the Government Summit, including details on how to register, will be released early in 2010.
