Arecont Vision’s MegaLab set for integration of CCTV cameras with software
MegaLab has several open bays in the server rack to test appliance-based NVRs

Arecont Vision, the industry leader in IP-based megapixel camera technology, announced a new MegaLab at its Glendale, California headquarters at ISC West 2010. The new facility has been created to assure integration of Arecont Vision's suite of 70 camera systems with industry leading NVR (Network Video Recorder) and VMS (Video Management System) software solutions. Member companies of Arecont Vision's Technology Partner Programme have access to the new MegaLab to test integration and load performance with a quality assurance (QA) engineer on hand to assist as needed, and with direct access to Arecont Vision development engineers.

"The MegaLab is a great tool to help us further expand the integration of Arecont Vision megapixel cameras while ensuring their compatibility with complementary state-of-the-art technologies," said Jason Schimpf, Partner Relations Manager, Arecont Vision. "There is no substitute for hands-on testing. The more testing we complete in our MegaLab, the more assured we are in the integration of our megapixel cameras with our partners."

Arecont Vision's MegaLab consists of a quad core server with hot-swappable hard drives connected to more than 80 load cameras with one of every model that Arecont Vision sells. There are also several open bays in the server rack to test appliance-based NVRs.

Arecont Vision's offerings include video management software, analytics, servers, wireless systems, structured cabling, optics and illumination

The MegaLab is part of the Technology Partner Programme (TPP), which was designed to further support partnerships between Arecont Vision and industry leading manufacturers through tighter integration, sales collaboration and joint marketing. The TPP is open to companies that sell products that complement Arecont Vision's offerings, including video management software, analytics, servers, storage, wireless systems, structured cabling, optics, enclosures, switches and illumination.

By integrating several camera features developed by Arecont Vision into their front-end systems, VMS partners can provide complete camera control while enhancing the performance and overall user experience without additional software or web configuration. VMS platform suppliers complete a questionnaire listing stating which of three available Arecont Vision features integration sets they have integrated, after which Arecont Vision schedules in-house testing in the MegaLab.

"Because users and integrators demand seamless solutions, Arecont Vision continues to reach out to technology partners to provide customers with seamless integration," said Raul Calderon, Vice President of Marketing. "Our investment in the MegaLab reflects our commitment to providing the industry with megapixel video solutions for mainstream video surveillance applications."

Arecont Vision's cameras range in image resolution from 1.3 to 10 megapixels, including camera models providing advanced capabilities such as dual sensor day/night, quad sensor panoramic viewing, and dual mode 10MP/1080p solutions. Using H.264 compression, Arecont Vision cameras provide greater compression efficiency to solve system issues related to bandwidth and storage. The Arecont Vision line also includes the MegaDome series of all-in-one dome cameras and a new compact JPEG series of cameras to address cost-sensitive applications.
